Our Team

Founder/Nature Facilitator/Administration

My connection with the Conway community started when I began college at the University of Central Arkansas while representing my school as a softball Bear, Go Bears! After graduating with a B.S. I completed a short internship at SMU, then volunteered as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at UCA. My husband and I welcomed our first, second, third, and fourth child in a span of 5 years. I realized soon after my oldest started public school that he wouldn’t thrive in that kind of environment. After many conversations with other parents that expressed the same concerns, I started researching and learning about different approaches. I’ve worked at a local gym with Gracie for the past few years while my children were, and still are, little. This is where the dream emerged to open Willow Roots. It is now my desire to serve my children and countless others in this community that are in need of an alternative to mainstream education. I want my own children to attend a school that nurtures their whole selves, embraces every unique difference, and nurtures all languages of intellect.

Stepahnie Doak

Lead Nature Tykes Facilitator

I’m Stephanie and I’m so excited for this opportunity at Willow Roots! My family lives here in Conway. We have a little farm in the works with chickens, a turkey, and goats. We also have a couple of dogs and a cat. We recently added honey bees to the mix! As a family we love going on adventures, hiking, and swimming. I enjoy gardening, reading, painting/art, and playing with my animals in my free time.

Literacy Facilitator & Director of Operations

With 19 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with learners across multiple settings, including public schools, private education, and online platforms. I spent many of those years teaching kindergarten before transitioning to third grade, where my passion for literacy and student-centered learning truly flourished. I am trained in Connections - The Science of Reading and specialize in teaching English Language Arts, equipping students with the foundational skills they need to thrive as lifelong learners.

Helping launch this amazing school has been the most rewarding chapter of my career. It perfectly aligns with my personal philosophy of education - one that prioritizes real-world life skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and a curriculum designed around the unique needs and interests of each student. Teaching here hasn’t just fulfilled my vision of what education should be; it’s challenged and grown me in ways I never expected, making me a better educator and leader.

Outside of teaching, I have a deep passion for holistic health and wellness, and strongly advocate for finding the root causes of ailments rather than just treating symptoms. I love traveling and making memories with my family, or simply spending quality time with friends and loved ones. I’m incredibly blessed to share life with my wonderful husband of 22 years and our two amazing children, who have truly blossomed here at Willow Roots.

Lead Heartwoods Facilitator

Hi, I’m Kym Douglas, the Upper School Literacy Facilitator, Lead Heartwoods Facilitator, and Upper School Tech Teacher. I love helping students discover their voices as writers and thinkers, and I believe learning should be hands-on, creative, and connected to the real world. When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me in my garden — digging in the dirt, tending to all the plants, or dreaming up new ways to bring that same sense of growth and curiosity into our school.

Caroline Malone

Lead Sprouts Facilitator

I consider it a true privilege to serve as the Sprouts teacher at Willow Roots. As a Conway native, I’ve spent most of my life here in Central Arkansas, and it brings me great joy to invest in the community that raised me. For the past three years, I’ve worked at Willow Roots, where I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a Pre-K teacher, a culture teacher, and an art instructor. These diverse roles have allowed me to combine my love for creativity, early childhood education, and meaningful connections with young learners.

I grew up in a close-knit family with three sisters, who quickly became my best friends. Some of my most cherished childhood memories involve tagging along with our dad, an agronomist, on his outdoor work adventures. I may not have understood his job title at the time, but I was captivated by the natural world he loved. Whether we were collecting insects, splashing in puddles, listening to frogs and cicadas sing, or watching deer graze at the edge of the woods, those moments sparked a lifelong curiosity and appreciation for nature. What I once saw as simple fun, I now recognize as the foundation for a love of learning through exploration. Nothing better than getting the opportunity to take my kids outside to enjoy God’s creation! I’m excited to bring those formative experiences, along with my creativity and passion for young children, into the classroom—helping students discover the wonder of the world around them.

In addition to teaching, I’m a lifelong lover of art. Over the past two years, I’ve worked as a freelance artist, creating murals, commissioned pieces, and window paintings to spread joy and beauty in the community. While I continue to pursue this passion, I’m especially thrilled to share it with the Willow Roots family and help inspire creativity in the next generation of students.

Lower School Culture & Math Facilitator

I’m originally from Arkansas but spent my teenage years and early adulthood in Kansas City until I joined the military. I spent four years in the Army and upon getting out moved to Arkansas in order to further my education at the University of Central Arkansas.

My wife and I currently reside in Conway with our three-year-old daughter. I love being outdoors whether it be fishing, hiking, or in water. On the weekends you can catch me calling the Hogs or cheering on the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Braves.

I have been a part of Willow Roots for 3 years and am dedicated to the learners’ success at this wonderful and unique environment. I’m extremely passionate about teaching and count it an honor to educate young minds.

Samantha “Sam” Ingram

Lead Withies & Catkins Facilitator

I am a dynamic educator, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner who thrives in a busy, adventure-filled life. An Arkansas native, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History and a Master’s in the Art of Teaching from the University of Central Arkansas. As a wife and mom of four, I balance my roles as a Culture, Project, and Upper School Math Facilitator, and have served as the lead Withies and Catkins facilitator at Willow Roots since 2023. A former EMT, I also happily acts as the school’s “nurse.” I have studied abroad in Italy and France, deepening my love for culture and travel, and enjoy sharing my experiences and passion for global cultures with my students. Passionate about wellness and self-care, I am also a dedicated Disney enthusiast and marathon runner, embracing every challenge with energy, creativity, and a touch of magic.

Director of Finances & Administrative Specialist

After years of teaching math in the classroom, I discovered a new calling behind the scenes—bringing order, structure, and clarity to the world of administration and finance. What began as a shift in roles quickly became a passion, allowing me to combine my love for numbers with a heart for serving others.

Now working remotely from Texas, I support the team with financial management and operational efficiency while living out my family's mission of planting a church in our new community.

Outside of spreadsheets and communication, life is full and vibrant with my husband, Trevor, our two sons, Rhett and Mace, and our Italian daughter, Marika, who became family during a 2023 exchange program. Whether budgeting or chasing toddlers, I strive to bring heart and clarity to everything I do.

Hi friends! I’m Taylor and I have lived in Central Arkansas my whole life. A few things I enjoy to do is spending time with family and friends, a beach vacation, crafting, enjoying the great outdoors, and teaching young minds. I am married to my best friend and we have two dogs, Greta and Maverick.

I could not be more excited to join the Willow Roots team and to learn and grow with your child this school year.

Taylor Bogard

Lead Saplings Facilitator

I have lived in central Arkansas my entire life and am a proud mother of two boys. As a family, we love spending time outdoors—whether it’s farming, gardening, riding ATV’s, hiking, or playing baseball and soccer.

I began my teaching career in a public school setting but took a break before returning to the classroom. During that time, I discovered my true passion lies in nurturing young minds and helping children develop skills they will carry with them for a lifetime. Teaching brings me so much joy, and I feel grateful to be part of Willow Roots’ dynamic and supportive environment that allows me to make a meaningful impact.

I am excited to be a part of this incredible school for a second year, and I look forward to watching both our school community and each student grow and thrive!
